The 265-hectare private Regional Open space is the second-largest private park in Gauteng and includes portions of the Modderfontein Spruit, a number of dams, grassland and hills. Activities in the Reserve: Bird Watching at the various Bird Hides. Picnicking at Dam 3 – This facility has limited capacity and offers braai and ablution facilities. Fishing at Dam 3 – Tickets can be purchased at the gate. Limited availability over weekends first come first served. Strictly catch and release. Taroko Trails at neighboring  Taroko Farm, offers cycling, hiking and running trails that takes you through parts of the Reserve Fourways Farmers Market is situated at neighboring  Taroko Farm and has various food and drink offerings

Is alcohol allowed at Modderfontein?

ALCOHOL: The onsite consumption of alcohol is prohibited in the Reserve. Please contact the gate on 0813511223 to enquire if space is available prior to arriving. No entry into the picnic and fishing area will be allowed without a valid ticket.
